Last week I took advantage of the 3 for 2 offer on at Boots and stocked up on some new beauty items, one of which was very much needed (the Max Factor foundation), the others were a splurge. You may notice four items on the photo and the other is my new Alien perfume that I was very kindly gifted by my mum as she was passing through duty free, if you haven’t smelt this perfume I urge you to do so, it’s incredible!

Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation – (Woah what a mouthful that name is!) I haven’t heard much about this online in the ‘beauty blogesphere’ but it’s my ultimate go to foundation for everyday use and for nights out. I have quite a pale complexion and I have the shade ‘Warm Almond 45’ which isn’t too pale but it does the job! I have banged on about this product so many times, in so many posts so I won’t say too much but if you want a more in-depth review then click here. As always this paired with my Real Techniques buffing brush is a dream to use and I would continue to repurchase this every time it runs out!

L’oreal Illuminating Powder – I picked this up on a whim because I love a good highlighter and this one looks so very good in it’s packaging. If you hate sparkly highlighters then I would avoid this product at all costs because it is very sparkly but if you blend it on on the high points of your face then it takes a lot of that shine away and ends up looking quite subtle. I have used this on the tops of my cheekbones, under my eyebrows and on the inner corners of my eyes so add a little something something! I think this would be a lovely product to take on holiday to add some extra glow, it’s not the best in the world but for now I like it!

L’oreal Lumi Magique Illuminating Pen – Can you spot a theme here with the whole illuminating products? I have heard Fleur from Fleur De Force rave about this product so many times so I wanted to give it a whirl. It is an under eye brightener that I suppose is a bit of a cheaper version to the much adored Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat which comes with a rather hefty price tag, luckily this didn’t! I have been using it everyday to banish the dark circles under my eyes and I have to say I do really quite like it. It has a brush end so that you brush on the product and then I tend to work it in with my Real Techniques contour brush. I normally use the Collection lasting perfection concealer which can be quite heavy under the eye but this is quite light but has good coverage so it’s a winner! I normally powder lightly over the top to make it set but it doesn’t crease badly, so top marks from me!

Thierry Mugler Alien Eau De Parfum – As I said earlier this was actually gifted to me earlier on in the month but I wanted to put it in here because it’s just amazing! I have used the Alien Eau De Toilette before and I thought it was gorgeous, but this is just something else! I have been trying to save it for nights out and special occasions as it’s only a tiny bottle but whenever I wear it I always get asked what perfume I am wearing and you can even smell it on yourself it’s that strong after just one spritz. I will continue to ask for this every birthday and christmas as I truly am head over heels in love with it! I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again….go sample it out if you haven’t it’s seriously good!

Have you bought any new beauty bits recently? What products should I try?

  1. I love the L’oreal Lumi Magique Illuminating Pen. It honestly worked a lot better than I thought it would. I’ve been trying to get into contouring lately so I’ve been picking up some matte bronzers.

    1. It’s pretty good isn’t it! I too have been into contouring at the moment! I’ve found some good tutorials on YouTube and Pinterest! Let me know if you find any amazing bronzers!
