ESPA Pro Cleanser // Pro Serum Review

Being subscribers of Tatler magazine definitely has it’s perks, one of them being the incredible gifts that you receive on an monthly basis, and this months has been an absolute winner in my eyes! It was the turn of the beauty bible and with it arrived this miniature Espa gift set, including their Pro Cleanser, Pro serum and a £20 gift card to spend on an item of your choice! Now I hadn’t ever heard of Espa before but then again I don’t tend to buy premium skincare, but it was a great opportunity to try out some luxury products and see how they made my skin feel.

First up is the Pro Cleanser, I am in love with this product! My normal night time routine consists of a cream cleanser, and whilst I do like using a cream as it’s less fuss, my skin never feels quite as clean as it does when I use water and a muslin cloth. That being said I embraced using this product for a whole week and the results were amazing! To get things started you splash your face with warm water and work a small amount of this product into the skin. On first impressions you will notice this contains large beads which are jojoba that gently exfoliate the skin whilst you massage it in, you will notice they melt onto the skin after a while leaving a more oily/gel texture that you can continue to work in until you are happy your face is clean. Next you can either wash off the remaining product with your hands or use a muslin cloth for a further deep clean.

You will notice immediately it’s effects as soon as you touch your skin and on applying your next step which would be the Pro Serum. This little beauty is a bit pricey but a few drops go a long way to help seal in moisture and make skin feel baby soft. I haven’t ever used a serum so this was all new territory to me, but after using this for a week I think it is a step I definitely can’t afford to miss anymore! Once smoothed into the hands it gives off a beautiful aroma that is actually quite relaxing, I then patted it all over my face (don’t rub) until I felt that a good amount had been absorbed. I then followed using my latest night time moisturiser by Urban Veda and my skin felt incredibly smooth and ready for ultimate repair work over night!

Overall I am really impressed by these two beauts, they have been incredible to try out and I think I will be spending my voucher on another Pro Cleanser to add to my nightly routine on a regular basis!

Benefit Porefessional Primer

I was recently sent a sample of the much coveted Benefit Porefessional which is an absolute classic in terms of primer must haves! I shamefully had never tried this product before but I had always been dying to so it was great to finally be able to see what all the hype is about! I don’t use a primer on a daily basis but when I go out I do like to moisturise and then prep for my base with a primer. I usually use the Rimmel Fix and Perfect which I do like but it can sometimes be a little slippery to apply, but it does help keep shine at bay for at least a little while!

On first application I didn’t expect the primer to be skin toned when it came out of the tube so it was quite a surprise as I am normally used to a white or clear product! It felt a little bit heavier than the Rimmel primer that I am used to but it blended like a dream and after I had left it to sink in for a little while my skin felt incredibly smooth and ready to apply my foundation. Usually when I go out I have to powder at least few times to keep my face looking matte but I was amazed to find that I didn’t have to apply any powder at all whilst using this product as it still looked very much all in place!

I think this product would be an absolute godsend on holiday and you could even wear it just as a base if you were having a great skin day! I would use it time and time again before nights out as you would be assured that your skin would most certainly be looking perfect all night with zero shine! Once I have finished my sample I think it is time to finally add it to my collection where it will have pride of place in my make up bag!

Makeup Revolution Flawless Ultra Eyeshadows

This is my first ever Makeup Revolution product and my god it’s a good one! I bought this palette about 3 weeks ago in Superdrug and ever since I haven’t been able to put it down! It’s been my saviour for nights out, perking up tired eyes and providing the ultimate smokey eye, as well as being a dream to travel with too! It contains 32 individually named shades which are mostly shimmery but there are a few matte colours thrown in there too for the perfect crease contour! The colours range from dusty pinks and neutral browns, to more sultry berry shades and of course the classic matte black to provide the perfect palette to create just about any eye look possible.

If that all wasn’t enough, it is an absolute steal at £8 I think you would struggle to find another product like it with the same pigmentation and shade range! So if you haven’t already guessed I am head over heels for this palette, from the packaging, price and product point of view it is all spot on, well done Makeup Revolution you have converted me into a frequent buyer and I will most definitely be purchasing more from the range soon!

Urban Veda // Purifying Protecting Night Cream

Urban Veda Purifying Protecting Night Cream – £14.99

I have been having some serious skin issues at the moment, and have been on the hunt for a night cream that is gentle but also going to help heal and restore my skin whilst I catch 40 winks! Which is where Urban Veda comes in! I recently found this brand on Holland and Barrett whilst ordering my latest batch of Chia Seeds and was totally obsessed with their products and brand! I checked out their website and took the Dosha test to confirm what type of skin I have, but also found out a little bit about how my personality can also effect my skin, which I found really interesting seeing as I am trying to change my lifestyle/eating habits for the better. My results showed that I did have oil-prone skin and that the Purifying range would be best suited to me, which then led me to the Purifying and Protecting range.

I have combination/oily skin which at the moment seems to be very congested and causing a lot of blemishes which is exactly what this product helps to combat. With products such as neem, wild mint, eucalyptus and witch hazel the ‘detoxifying Ayurvedic skincare helps to reduce excess sebum, refine pores and leave skin hydrated’. It is also pore refining, mattifying and perfect for oil prone skin, along with contain no paragons, sls and gm ingredients. The brand is also very much against animal testing which I fully support, and would definitely be a factor for me to re-purchase from them again!

I have only been using this cream for a few nights now and on first impression it is already a winner! The cream itself is quite thick so I have been massaging it between clean hands before applying it to my face, (fyi a little bit goes a long way so make sure not to take too much out of the jar). As soon as the product is on the skin you immediately smell the botanical scents which feel incredibly fresh and soothing, and provide a little tingle once it has been applied. In the morning my skin has been feeling much softer and also more hydrated, but in terms of helping clear congestion I think it might take a while to begin to work its magic, so watch this space!

So if you are after a new skincare routine or if you need a little help deciding what skin type would be best for you, then Urban Veda have a whole range of different products to help each and every skin type so go and check out what would work for you! I am sure I will be back purchasing more of their products from the purifying range if all goes well with the night cream!

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette

Believe it or not this is my first ever Urban Decay product, and it’s been a long time coming! I have heard so much about the Naked eyeshadow palettes, but as I have a lot of eyeshadow, I thought I would give their contour trios a go instead! This little beauty was in the Feel Unique sale and was just over £16 which I thought was a bit of a bargain price! I picked up the Flushed – Native option which has a hot pink blusher, a beautifully shimmery highlight and a slightly glittery warm bronzer. I have to say on first impressions all three of the shades are incredibly pigmented and blend beautifully, I think this would be a great palette to take on holiday, or throw into your bag for on the go touch ups!

Downton Abbey Tour

I am a huge fan of Downton Abbey, and as part of my Christmas present my lovely sister purchased two tickets to go and visit Highclere Castle in April! As a hint present she also bought me this trio of Downton hand creams from Marks & Spencer which I absolutely love too! They are perfect for throwing in your handbag, or popping on your night stand, in a gorgeous freesia and mandarin fragrance! I will hopefully be doing a blog post all about my time at Highclere so keep your eyes peeled for that post later in the year! I would love to hear if any of you have been!

H&M Sale Haul

During my Boxing Day Sale extravaganza I also had a sneak peek on H&M! Firstly is this bag, which wasn’t actually in the sale as it was a present from my mum for Christmas, but I did want to include it anyway! It is a very large tote, with faux leather and velvet side panels, and I think it looks a lot more expensive than it was! I will be using this as my everyday bag and because it’s so large you could fit quite a lot in here, including the kitchen sink!

Next was this plain cream oversized jumper which I actually bought to wear with a gold metallic skirt that I recently purchased from Miss Selfridge! I thought it would look nice just tucked in and slightly baggy, again the sizing is a bit oversized, it seems Medium no longer is a medium! Or you could wear it casually with jeans and boots for everyday use, so it is quite a simple but versatile item! Another knitwear item was this oversized marl cardigan. I have another similar to this from Primark and I wear it constantly so I bought this one as a back-up! It is very oversized, again a Medium is coming up larger than usual, but you can get away with it being a looser fit. It has huge pockets which I love, and I can see me wearing this with a black cami, jeans and chunky heeled boots!

Lastly is this textured faux leather mini skirt which I had my eye on at full price but just didn’t make the purchase and I’m so glad I didn’t because it was a steal in the sale! I don’t think I could get away with wearing this without tights as I am 5ft10 so it could be a bit too short, but with black tights, chunky boots and a jumper or shirt tucked in I think this would look gorgeous!

YSL Radiance Beauty Gift Set

I don’t usually treat myself to high end make-up but when I saw this gorgeous YSL gift set in the Boots sale, and with some Christmas money in my purse, I thought why the hell not! I have tried the much coveted Touche Eclat before and absolutely loved it, but with a £25 price tag it isn’t something I re-purchase on a regular basis. But this whole set cost £33, including my Boots points I would receive, so I told myself it was too good of an offer to miss out on!

First up can I just say the packaging of how this arrived was just beautiful, the box itself will be something I will be keeping, along with the gorgeous black make-up bag too! All the goodies were wrapped up in luxurious boxes and I couldn’t wait to get them out! For photo purposes I haven’t used any of the products yet as I wanted them to be pristine for this post, but now I shall be happily using them on special occasions!

The Touche Eclat is in the shade 1 Rose which is a great shade for me because I am so pale, so I will be applying this to highlight ala Kim K! The mascara is the Volume Effet Faux Cils in 1 high density black, which is good because I only ever wear black mascara and I am looking forward to seeing how this compares to my Clinique! Lastly is the Forever Youth Liberator which I am a little dubious to use as I am not sure if it will be a bit too much for my sensitive skin, in which case I will be passing it along to my Mum who has already tried to steal it several times!

Zara Sale Haul

It was the first year I have had Boxing Day off in a long time, so this year I decided to take full advantage of my time off and look through the online sales! Zara always has an amazing sale, and I managed to pick up these three gorgeous items for almost half the price, bargain! First up, and probably my favourite purchase of the whole Boxing Day sale is the Mini Office Bag in black for £29.99, I fell instantly in love with this online and when it arrived it was even more beautiful! I don’t have another bag like this one and it will be kept in it’s cloth bag for protection until I am ready to use it.

Next up was this slogan white tee, now I am always wearing a white tee and jeans and I just love the eyelashes and the slogan on this because it is totally me! I don’t go out without my winged eyeliner on so this just fit the bill perfectly! At £7.99 it was also a steal and I look forward to wearing this on casual days with my jeans, or on holiday tucked into some high waisted shorts!

Lastly is this beautiful maroon coloured light knit jumper. It is very creased so apologies for that but it has just come out of the wash as I have already worn it several times! It is a size Medium and has come up quite large so I would suggest sizing down if you were to purchase it, but other than that it is a simple wardrobe staple! You could dress this up with a statement necklace, or wear with skinny jeans, a cropped leather jacket and boots for everyday wear!
