I feel a bit out of practice sat here writing this post, and that’s because it really has been a while since I’ve had time to focus on my blog. These past few months have been a bit of a whirlwind for me as you know I started a new job in August and ever since haven’t felt as though I’ve stopped. Don’t get me wrong I am enjoying my new job and all it has to entail but unfortunately my blog has suffered somewhat severely because of it. I can safely say I have a whole new respect for those people who hold down a full time job and still dedicate the time to their blog, they really are saints! I am hoping though that now I have settled into my hours I will be able to spend a little more time writing and keeping you all up to date what I have been up to!
Last weekend my sister and I popped out for a bit of retail therapy and I managed to pick up a few new beauty bits which I’d like to share with you all! I have been using a few of them for the past two weeks so I can give a good review of how they have worked for me!
Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser – I have delved into the world of hot cloth cleansers before with Liz Earle a few years ago and my skin reacted so badly to it it really put me off trying another but I love the feeling of your skin after using a hot cloth cleanser and this one is a beaut. This Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser is one of Superdrug’s own brand products (£3.32) and before buying it I did my research on a few blogs and found that it had been successful with sensitive skin which is a huge bonus for me as well as doing wonders for your skin at a great price…amazing right! You do get a muslin cloth with your cleanser but it is a little rough so I used my previous Liz Earle ones which are much softer but if you suffer from sensitive skin then this could be the product for you!
Simply Sensitive Toner – Again another own brand product but this time it is from Boots. Looking for products which cater to my sensitive skin has been a high priority recently and I am so glad I picked this up on a whim. I usually use the Simple toner but I can sometimes find it is quite drying and leaves your skin feeling uncomfortably tight where as this toner is refreshing and I can certainly see a difference since using it. I have found my skin to be much more radiant and soft so big thumbs up from me, as well as an amazing price of £2.69…bargain.
Simply Sensitive Deep Hydrating Mask – Normally the words deep hydrating scare the life out of me because if anything within an inch of being too rich touches my skin I am bound to have a reaction to it. But I was feeling quite brave the day I bought this and thought I would give it a go because it does say it is for sensitive skin after all so I put it to the test. It is sort of like a hot cloth cleanser in the way you have to apply the product to a dry face then wipe away after 3 minutes and I definitely found that my skin was softer and more evenly toned if that makes sense. This was £2.99 and I think it will come in handy during the cold winter months when my skin will be feeling a little sorry for itself and in need of a pick me up.
Rimmel Pro Nail Varnish Blue Vogue – I love a good nail varnish and Barry M are usually my go to brand but I picked this up from the poundshop and thought that it was a good deal. I haven’t got a dark blue in my collection and I thought for the autumn winter it would be quite a nice shade and a good alternative to wearing black. It is just the same as the other rimmel pro varnishes as it has a large spade type brush which allows you to sweep on the colour in one stroke making it even more easy to paint your nails!
Impulse Spray True Love – Again this item was from the poundshop and it is my favourite scent from Impulse, my sister even commented saying how nice it smelt so it’s a winner all round. I throw this in my handbag for emergency spritzes at work when I don’t want to haul my huge glass Paco Rabanne bottle around. I think it would also be great for after the gym or even just to ensure your always smelling fresh as a daisy!
Primark Pink Powder Brush – I snapped this up in Primark for a pound and I use it just to throw in my bag to apply my setting powder instead of damaging my real techniques powder brush. It isn’t amazing but for on a night out or for an on the go sweep it does it’s job well!
